This statement explains what personal data we collect through telcs-design.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it. It is made in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong.
What we collect
We collect personal data only when you choose to send it to us. We do not require you to provide personal data in order to read this website.
When you use one of our enquiry forms, we collect the information you enter. Depending on the form, that is:
- your name, email address and telephone number;
- your postal address, where the form asks for it;
- details of your project — its name, location, area, type, and the services you are interested in;
- any message or additional information you write;
- any files you choose to upload in support of a proposal request.
Automatically, when a form is submitted we also record the IP address it was sent from. This is used to identify and block automated spam submissions.
Why we use it
We use the information you send us to reply to your enquiry, to prepare a proposal or quotation where you have asked for one, and to keep a record of our correspondence with you. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we do not send marketing email to people who have contacted us through this website.
Who else receives it
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. Data is handled on our behalf by the following service providers:
- Bravenet — website and database hosting.
- Postmark (Wildbit, LLC) — delivery of the notification emails generated by our enquiry forms.
- Google — Google Analytics for website statistics, and reCAPTCHA to protect our forms from automated abuse.
Where your data is stored
Although TELCS is based in Hong Kong, this website and its database are hosted on servers located in North America, and our email delivery provider also operates outside Hong Kong. Personal data you submit through this website is therefore stored and processed outside Hong Kong.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for 12 months from our last contact with you about the matter, after which they are deleted. Where an enquiry leads to a project, the records relating to that project are kept for as long as we need them for the engagement and for our own legal and accounting obligations.
Cookies and website statistics
This website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are read, and how people arrive. This is used in aggregate; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to do this.
Google reCAPTCHA is used on our forms to distinguish genuine visitors from automated submissions, and also sets cookies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not prevent you from reading this website, but our forms may not work correctly without reCAPTCHA.
Keeping it secure
This website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Access to the enquiry records is limited to TELCS staff who need it to respond to you.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance you have the right to ask us whether we hold personal data about you, to be given a copy of it, and to have it corrected if it is wrong. You may also ask us to delete it.
To make any of these requests, write to:
